Recent years have seen massive feminist mobilisations in virtually every continent, challenging repressive legislation and all kinds for gender-based violence and giving a glimpse of more equal societies. Is it a new wave of social mobilisation? Are there similarities accross the continents and countries? What are the theoretical references in these movements?
In this seminar we will
(a) read the book "Feminist International. How to Change Everything" (2020, 2021 German translation forthcoming) by Verónica Gago
(b) get to know movement for gender equality, LGBTIQ+ rights and against gender-based violence from all over the world.
Participants from Sociology and Sociel Sciences are equally welcome as students from Zertifikat Geschlechterforschung. In case all participants speak German, we can switch the language.
